Lush and powerful. Some may say it's a bit overblown. Nobody can deny it was one of the greatest tunes of the 70's.

Don't know why I've made this my number one, it's just the first song I think of when I think of the best of 70's music.
Having been born in '65, I was able to grow up listening to the greatest decade of rock/pop music ever! No other decade was so diverse in song, lyrics and style as the 70's. While my tastes tend to lead towards the "softer" rock, it would take a top 100 list to show my appreciation of the music.

Everybody knows this one. Hey Ho Lets Go! This song is as upbeat and gets me jumpin' everytime I listen to it.

Famous guitar riff. I love it, once I start playing it I can't turn it off. Ozzy's unique voice is sung well in this one. And the drumming is awesome too.
- 8. Highway To Hell by AC/DC
Everybody knows this one with its famous guitar riff. The song has awesome lyrics and Bon Scott roars on this one. He died shortly after this song was released.
- 7. Feel Like Makin' Love by Bad Company
Paul Rodgers has an amazing voice and this song just makes you want to get up and find someone to make love to. This song is great and never gets old.
- 6. More Than A Feeling by Boston
This song has one of the greatest guitar riffs of all time. Nirvana has a similar one in their famous song "Smells Like Teen Spirit." This song gets you in an upbeat mood every time you listen to it.
- 5. Dust In the Wind by Kansas
This song is so awesome. The lyrics blew me away when I first heard them. This is the greatest folk song of all time. The vocals are amazing as well and this song really makes you think about life.
- 4. Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin
This song is a flawless one. The best guitar solo of all time is in this song played by the guru of guitar, Jimmy Page. Robert is one of the greatest vocalists of all time.
- 3. Baba O'Riley by The Who
Known by many to be called "Teenage Wasteland." This song is simply amazing. The keyboard is awesome and this is another lyrically genious song. Roger Daltrey is the greatest vocalist of all time.
- 2. Hotel California by The Eagles
This song is flawless from start to finish. With Don Henley's amazing vocals and Joe Walsh's great guitar this song is fantastic. One of the greatest guitar solos of all time and the song is lyrically genious.
- 1. Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Words can't explain this song. By far the best song lyrically of all time. This song is exactly the way I would want to live my life and it gets you through some tough times. Ronnie Van Zant sings from the heart on this one.
