By: Ryan Daniels
- 10. I Robot & Tales Of Mystery And Imagination by The Alan Parsons Project
The reason I had to put both on tgere is becuase barely anybody has heard of the latter. Both are incredible..
- 9. What If by The Dixie Dregs
Steve Morse...up there with the ranks of Jeff Beck, Leo Kottke, and McLaughlin.
- 8. Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
To tell you the absolute truth, the albums i would actually put on here is are Freewheelin', The Times They Are A Changin', and Highway 61 Revisited....all from the 60's though, so i Had to get Bob on here somewhere, after all he wrote the best lyrics...He is GOD!
- 7. Who's Next by The Who
Phenomenal...
- 6. Revolver by The Beatles
For obvious reasons...this however can't completely do justice to the band. If I could I'd add Sgt. Peppers, Magical Mystery Tour, & The White Album to this, but I can't.
- 5. Physical Graffitti by Led Zeppelin
So many solid tracks, great lyrics and Jimmy Page.
- 4. Animals by Pink Floyd
Political, spine tingling rock at it's absolute peak. This album does not completely envelope the full spectrum of all that is Pink Floyd, but along the lines of 70's rock, not much comes close.
- 3. Inner Mounting Flame by Mahavishnu Orchestra
John McLaughlin flies through this album, possibly the best rock/fusion guitarist ever. Also, obviously it helps to have Jan Hammer and Billy Cobham by your side.
- 2. Truth by Jeff Beck
Ahhh....yeah, It's Jeff Beck. Enough said...
- 1. The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
Technically, from 1967, please, don't pick bones here! It's the most chilling album both lyrically, and poetically ever made.
Whoa!!! There is sooo much I feel like I missed, and I hate having to rank them, I would rather do an unranked top 500 albums of the 70's but I can't. Among those who I missed (The Stones, Hendrix, Pat Metheny, Creedence Clearwater, The Band, Laurie Anderson, Sex Pistols, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Cooke, More Jeff Beck, More Floyd, More Velvet Underground....soooo much more!

- 3. Countdown To Ecstacy by Steely Dan
Wanna feel 70's angst? Give this one a spin
- 2. Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield
Who says you need acid (ala Floyd) to "get into the music, man!" ??? One guy by himself playing dozens of instruments with 70's technology. Mind blowing
- 1. Chicago II by Chicago
Jazz-Rock at it's finest. Intricate, tight and just plain fun. Terry Kath never got the recognition and credit he deserved as probably one of the finest guitar players in R&R. Even the great Jimi Hendrix said of Kath "I thought I was good, but THIS guy blows me away!"

- 10. Hair Of The Dog by Nazareth
what vocals! i wonder if he can still deliver that kind of performance.
- 9. Dog And Butterfly by Heart
mistral wind is one of the BADDEST songs ever! and i seen them do it live, all original group, in good ole 1978!

oh yes! the song remains the same. ever hear DREAM THEATER's version of this? if not, check it out!

have you guessed yet? i'm a major rush fan! this lp had the biggest impact on me as a guitarist/songwriter. its still evident in my stuff today, 21 years later.

By: KYE MONISMITH
- 10. Boston by Boston
THE ONLY ALBUM THAT I AM AWARE OF WHERE EACH TRACK WAS PLAYED ON THE RADIO AS HIT SINGLES.
- 9. Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack by Various Artists
THE BEE GEES FIVE SONGS OFF THIS SOUNDTRACK ARE PROBABLY THE BEST DISCO SONGS EVER WRITTEN.
- 8. Hotel California by The Eagles
THIS WAS THE FIRST CD IN MY COLLECTION. WITH THE TALENT LEVEL IN THIS GROUP, THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS BAND COULD NOT REACH ULTIMATE SUCCESS.
- 7. Fragile by Yes
THIS IS YES AT IT'S PEAK IN THE 70'S. THIS IS THE ONLY ALBUM I CAN RECALL WHERE EACH MEMBER OF THE BAND WROTE, PRODUCED, AND PERFORMED THEIR OWN SOLO TRACKS.
- 6. Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
THIS ALBUM HAS THE BEST COLLECTION OF SONGS THAT PORTRAY THE STRUGGLE THAT EXISTS IN RELATIONSHIPS. I BELIEVE EVERYONE CAN RELATE TO CERTAIN LYRICS ON THIS RECORD AND THAT IS WHY I BELIEVE IT IS ONE OF MOST BOUGHT ALBUMS IN HISTORY.
- 5. Who's Next by The Who
THIS ALBUM CONTAINED WHAT I CALL THE WHO'S BIG THREE. BABA O'RILEY, WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN, AND BEHIND BLUE EYES. WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN CONTAINS THE MOST INTELLIGENT USE OF A KEYBOARD IN ROCK HISTORY.
- 4. Houses Of The Holy by Led Zeppelin
THIS IS A GREAT RECORD TO HAVE JUST FOR THE COVER. LED ZEPPELIN WENT ALL OUT AND SAMPLED ALL THEIR MUSICAL STYLES AND TASTES TO DEMONSTRATE HOW DIVERSE A HEAVY METAL BAND CAN BE.
- 3. The Wall by Pink Floyd
THE 70'S HAD MANY SONGS THAT TOLD STORIES, BUT THIS TOOK THAT CONCEPT TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL. FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS ALBUM I THOUGHT I WAS LISTENING TO A PIECE OF LITERATURE ON CASSETTE.
- 2. Led Zeppelin 4 by Led Zeppelin
I WOULD HAVE PUT LED ZEPPELIN'S BOX SET IN THIS LIST, BUT THIS IS AN ALBUM'S LIST SO I CHOSE THEIR BEST WORK. LED ZEPPELIN WRITES THEIR MOST DEEPEST LYRIC WITH THE MOST PLAYED SONG IN ROCK HISTORY.
- 1. Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd
THIS IS THE SGT. PEPPER'S ALBUM OF THE 70'S. ENOUGH SAID.
