I got mine for my eighth birthday, 1975. I hadn't played with it for ten minutes when my dad and his friend took over and soon started modifying it. They taped card stock to the rotor blades to try to get more lift. I seem to recall that they finally got it to lift a Zippo lighter, which was about twice as much as the stock toy would do.
