Oi Stretch! He was our favorite one. This guy could take a beating from a couple of lads - 11 and 8 years old - and still keep going. This guy got stretched to the limits of our strength and kept going back in shape, and more importantly didn't burst as we thought he would eventually. And talk about HEAVY, this thing weighed a ton, especially when thrown at someone. We'd also give him (and us) a workout by punching him. the goo inside was of the type that when one pressed on Stretch softly, it gave way very easily, but then given a firm whack, it remained very very solid. Stretch survived being left outdoors in the summer, on the sidewalk even, and also survived the freezer test. Eventually after some time he did develop a pinhole leak so it was adios to Mr Armstrong, sad day that was...

This was without a doubt one of the best ever toys because it did exactly would it said on the box. My brother and I saved up to buy one each he had stretch Armstrong but I had stretch monster which was green in colour and a little like the creature from the lagoon with scaley skin but the thing I liked most about this toy was the way it came packaged in its own polystirene block in which he lay until you removed him on his next outing. would love to see stretch monster again.

I had a stretch armstrong too. He got "married" to my quick curl barbie named Francis. One day stretch armstrong broke open and a clear gooey liquid came out. I was pretty young and decided to taste it. It was sweet. Probably some kind of corn syrup.

I had a Stretch Armstrong! One day, a friend and I each grabbed one arm to see how far we could stretch him. We went about ten feet, which was extremely funny...until it burst and the clear, gooey material came out and he was broken...I was very sad when that happened.

My brother had this Armstrong back in the 70's. I thought it was pretty odd, but whatever. When he outgrew playing with it, we decided to poke a few holes in him. Much to our amazement, some odd squishy stuff came out. I wonder to this day exactly what that slime was ?????

My cousin had Stretch Armstrong, and it was a lot of fun to see just how far you could stretch him. You could even tie his arms around door handles and keep pulling. Awesome! But one day my cousin got bored and poked a hole in his gut with a pair of scissors. Some kind of thick red gel oozed out. It looked like jelly, but judging from the look on the little sadist's face, it didn’t taste like it. Another great toy, ruined.
