Description
This was a toy made out of a soft and fuzzy material in the shape of a worm. One pulled the invisible string and made him crawl over anything. Came out in the early '70's, about '73. Cute.

In the first grade, I had an orange Squirmel. I really loved it and took it to school. Had it in my pocket for first grade picture day. Have no idea what happened to that little guy.
I had a light blue squirmel. I loved it! My niece recently got a squirmel for her 8th birthday and it brought back alot of memories. they got it in Altoona iowa at adventureland for $5.
These were originaly sold on a TV commercial first, before they were sold in stores. I had one and never could get it to work like they did. I think it was the same company that used to sell all those magic tricks gadgets on tv. Maybe it was Ronco.
i had one of these in kindergarten i believe and i thought they were real. When they said magic i thought it was ALIVE! But... it wasn't
i had a blue one in 2nd grade and me and my friends were playing with it and a bully threw it in the stream.I climbed over the fence without the teacher seeing me and i grabbed it and it stated falling apart!I couldn't wait till the bell rang so i could tell my mom. I ran home and she gave me the instructions and it said DO NOT GET WET! I got so so so so so mad! but that taught me to read instructions.
I spotted these beauties recently at my walmart. I was in the checkout and they were hanging there on the side of the soda refrigerator, not in the toy section. I had to get the brain thinking back on that one! yes, i did have one of these cute things.

I remember getting my 1st one in kindergarten!!! it was purple! i used to tell my mom "mom he is really alive!!!!" i was at the checkout at walmart and i saw him. i had to get it.
I was the kid in the original commercial and the toy was very easy to operate. Just bought two for my own kids. Nice to see the old toys making a come back

To Bob T....Do you know what a reproduction toy is?? They are from the 70's, and they have brought them back. No one is lying, lol. I don't think I had a real squirmel, I had the tiny fake ones that you could get in a quarter machine, I had several in different colors. I collected them, and loved them so much. :)
my friend just got a pack hers had a baby with it.they are so cute!!! i plan on buying a purple one.
