the U.S. version of Englands Sindy Fashion doll,like a Barbie,but just could not compete.Came out here in 1978,and flopped immediately.

Used to go to KayBee toys and look at these longingly, never got one. I remember wondering why they didn't spell her name with a C.

My aunt had a LOT of the Sindy doll things, the furniture, etc. I wasn't allowed to touch it. No idea what happened to it.

I had---and still do----a bunch of the Sindy furniture (it was made much better than the Barbie brand furniture!!), but I never had one of the dolls. Wish there was a picture here!

Sindy was a product of Pedigree Fashions in UK, 1963. Years after the Marx debacle, Hasbro re-introduced Sindy with features that more closely resembled Barbie, making her a stronger competitor in the U.S. market.
