Rock Em Sock Em Robots have been available in recent years before Christmas from the catalogs Vermont Country Store and Betty's Attic. The pricier catalog Hammacher Schlemmer has had a more expensive version called The Robotic Pugilists!

My dad bought a set supposidly for my brother and I. However he was the one who always played with it. When family would visit, my dad and uncles would play eachother. When my son was born in 91, the set was re released. My dad bought my son a set and played with my son for hours with it.

My brother got these for Christmas. I thought they were stupid until I saw him play with them. After that I wanted to play but he wouldn't let me! I could never get them because he hid them somewhere!

From the Saturday morning cartoon vault, an early TV commercial for this popular toy (by Marx). Filmed in glorious black & white, it aired on the "Casper the Ghost" cartoon show over ABC (10/17/64). First color commercial aired on "King Kong" over ABC (9/24/66). In 1970, the toy was exported to England, under the name Raving Bonkers. A much lower quality version is available today. R&SR was originally seven dollars in 1964.
