Description
it was a long cane with a rubber bulb at the end. there was a flap that opened so that a piece of newspaper could be inserted, then the flap was closed. The cane could then be slammed on the ground causing air pressure on from the rubber bulb on the end. This caused air pressure to blow a hole in the piece of newspaper and cause a real loud bang.

I had this toy when I was young. Couldn't think of its name- Pop Cane! Just as it's described above. A long cane with 1/2 a rubber ball on the end. You slip a piece of paper between the rubber ball and the flap, smash the rubber ball against the ground and "BANG" --Oy-Vay. Pop Cane!
I remember, back in the early 70's?, my little Sister wanting this really bad. I can still hear her begging "Want Pop-cane!, want Pop-cane!". I'd like to find one, wrap it up for her birthday, and see the expression on her face.
I also had one of these. I don't know what ever happened to it. I totally remember it. It was blue with the black rubber bulb on the end. I think the part that held the bulb and the paper was yellow. Wish I could find one.
I had a green one, and would always bring it out on the 4th of July. Eventually, it broke. (Probably because I was using TWO pieces of newspaper to make extra loud pops!)
