I was born in 77 and when I was between the ages of 2 and 5, I had what I call now, my "little blue shoe." It was a plastic ride-on toy in the shape of a light blue tennis-shoe. It had white trim and I believe the laces of the shoe and the handle was orange. It was my trademark, so-to-speak and I'd love to get another one for my little girl. I've looked and I can't find one anywhere. If you know where I can get one, I will pay top dollar. Please, please, please email me at cbatcher@hotmail.com I appreciate any leads I can get. The cool thing about the "shoe" was that it could STEER! No other baby riding toys did that and they still don't. I got one for my nephew in 1977 and then again for my son in 1981 and now I really want one for my grandson! The wheels were orange and looked like half basketballs! I want one!

I was born in 83 and I had a pink one. I believe it was Strawberry Shortcake and I got it when I was two...I wish I could find one too!!! I thought I was the only one that had one, and now I find that there was a whole bunch of us!

Both my sister and I had ones in pink. They had green handles that allowed for steering. One was Strawberry Shortcake and I can't remember what the other was. I was so mad when my mom donated them - they were awesome!!! Wish they still made them for our kids today!!!

This was my son's favorite ride-on. He rode it to the post office every day to get the mail with his Dad. I think that some how he is going to get it incorperated into a tattoo. We would love to get one for our grandson.

Wow!!! I just stumbled upon this and I am shocked! We are having a yardsale on Saturday and my mom brought my shoe over to sell. My three year old is attached to it, so I guess we will be keeping it. I had no idea it was this hard to come by! I wonder what ir's worth (although I will have to wait for my son to get over his new shoe scooter!)

Today I got my daughter's blue shoe down a shelf in the garage to clean it up for her twin son's. I wondered if it was still made and found this while looking. I have one of these toys but it’s an orange and black sneaker. This one is a little controversial because it has a Rebel Flag sticker on the front and sticker on the seat that says Rebel Rider it also has the number 10 on the side. Did anyone have this one or any info about it ? It seems to be playing off the Dukes of Hazzard Popularity at the time. I can’t seem to find any others like it. The pink shoe's full name was Little Princess Ride 'Em Sneaker. The blue one was Little Pro Ride 'Em Sneaker. The 1980 JC Penney catalog (page 515-16) listed them selling for $11. Jesse: Did not see the Rebel Rider sneaker in the toy catalogs from when "Dukes of Hazzard" was in production (1979-84). A two-bit novelty and toy company made those shoe riders, and getting rights to use any "Dukes" references would've been quite costly (their car # was 01).

Back in those days we had an old concrete patio with a somewhat round, four-foot hole in the center that was for a light post and flower bed. My son rode his blue shoe bike around and around that hole so much that he wore out the toes of a few right-hand shoes. Everyone calls it a tennis shoe but I had always thought it was a basketball shoe because of the orange wheels. That son now has my first grandchild and tell the story but can't even find the manufacturer's name.
