Description
I think that was the name, you put in an 8 track cassette, and it had a plunger like a dynomite plunger that Wile Cyote might have used in the Roadrunner cartoon, each time you pushed down the plunger it changed tracks to the next song, I think it was battery opporated, and you could carry it around, maybe that was where the name boom box came from..........lol.......

I still have one and it still works. Only you cannot fast forward or rewind. Ah, technology!

Panasonic also made the donut shaped radio you could wear around your wrist. What was it called?

I recently found a yellow one at Goodwill for $4.95 after last seeing one with a broken plunger for $10 at a yard sale in 2005, and decided I had to have it. I took the case apart, cleaned it out with air-in-a-can and put the metal disc with numbers on it back onto the program selector, and it works great now.

Panasonic made the Dynamite 8 player. Surprisingly, no one mentioned that Jimmie Walker (as J.J., his "Good Times" persona) did a great TV commercial, late 1974. Some models also played cassettes as well as 8 track.
