Does anyone remember a toy which I think was called "buckets away" ? It was this container like an ice bucket( orange colored or red I believe) that had a plastic middle that you pushed down and loaded these colored ping pong balls into and then you wound up the bucket and the middle would pop up and burst forth all these colored balls. The object of the game was to be the first to gather and return all the balls of the particular color you chose before the bucket burst. Does anyone remember this?

We had one of those "Buckets Away" game. That was a fun game, if you could find all the balls of you color in time. Often times after those balls exploded out of the bucket, they'd end up behind the couch or the tv set or some other unreachable place. Can't imagine that game being 'legal' today as I'm sure there would be a hazordous warning on it, balls may cause serious eye injury as those balls really did come out fast when the bucket let them loose. Dynamite shack to was great. No matter how often a person played that game, if they got caught when the top popped off it seemed like you always jumped. Both great games.

The "Buckets Away" game you folks are referring I'm almost sure is called "Bucked of Fun" from Milton Bradley. Do a Google Search and you'll see it as there are no links allowed here.

From the Saturday morning cartoon vault: TV commercial for Milton Bradley's Dynamite Shack game. This aired on a rerun of "Flintstones" over NBC (8/17/68). Some felt this was ill-timed, given all the destruction taking place then in Chicago, New Haven and Los Angeles. Same as some felt that the cartoon series "Super President" was inappropriate, yet NBC still aired it from 1967 to 1969.
