Matt: Your question on Matchbox racing sets: The earliest one, from 1969, was the Superfast set. This was the only one, possibly, made by the Lesney company in England. Also, the G-$ Gift Set, which came with eight Matchbox cars related to racing. Other racing sets were made when production shifted from England to Hong Kong in the mid 1970s. To Adria: I found a few things out about what you are seeking. The Deely Bopper link to Barbie accessories was brief, around 1971. In 1982, a British novelty company created the Deely Bobber headpiece, sort of copying the name, give or take a letter. You are correct, in that Google searches prove vagueness in pinpointing this. The 1969 Archies LP, "Jingle Jangle," displays what may be those Deely Bopper connecting pieces on the jacket cover. Another name for those may be Crystal Climbers.
