I am trying to remember a bizarre catching game called Thumb Ball that appeared in early 1970s. It consisted of two posts or catchers with thumb activated buttons on the side that were used to catch and release the ball that was thrown back and forth. I have see a similar game on current websites with the name Thumb Ball, but I swear I saw an old version around 1970. And NJTitan, I remember that wind-up football game, even though I was a girl not into sports. It was the Marx Pro Bowl Live Action play set, and I remember the wind-up quarterback who doubled as a kicker. Board Game Geek has a description of it.
