During the late 70s and early 80s, my grandmother used to serve us kids cheese doodles, but not any cheese doodle, nope, these were hollow, more the size of a thumb than a pinky finger, and slightly squished in appearance. They were much 'softer' to the touch, to the tongue and on the palate. They kinda melted in your mouth to a degree, and didn't yellow the fingers half as much! I loved those, the last bag I bought was around 1986-7, never saw them again, anywhere... :(
