Adele Davis, in her book "Lets Get Well" (which was written in about 1970's) gave the recipe for "Tigers Milk". The name was copyrighted. She later sold the name to a concern and changed the name to "Pep-up", This first recipe is Adele Davis' original recipe, that I have been recommending to patients for ages. The second recipe is my own personal version of Tiger's Milk. This was a particularly popular beverage with me for years during my active gym years in the 80's and 90's. * 1 cup low-fat milk * 1/3 ripe banana * 1/4 cup milk powder * 1 or 2 tablespoons brewer's yeast (1 tbsp if you are not used to the taste of the yeast) * 2 tablespoons wheat germ * Method * Mix milk and banana in a blender, and add the yeast, wheat germ, and milk powder. That's all there is to it. It has a pleasant taste. * This is about 40 grams of protein, with minimal calories. * Tiger's Milk could replace breakfast, but over the years I have found that could use a little more fiber in the way of LSA mix (Linseed Sunflower & Almond) which was made popular in the 1980's by Dr. Sandra Cabot (The Liver Cleansing Diet). My Personal Version of Tiger Milk: Blend 2 cups of Soy or Rice milk with * 1 Tblsp flaxseed oil * 1 tsp Manuka honey * ½ Tblsp Brewers yeast * ½ Tblsp Lecithin * ½ tsp natural vanilla essence Notes * Shake or blend very well before serving. * Optional : Add 1 Teaspoon of Green Barley powder, high in protein, for an extra boost in energy.
