I truly miss the Red Barn; my girlfriend complains I talk about it way too much. Where I grew up in Ottawa it was years ahead of the competition with a salad bar; the best chicken and fries and burgers too. I would eat there quite often partly because the Red Barn sponsored a baseball team (Mickey Mantle league) my dad coached. Every game they won entitled each player to a free burger meal. They did not lose a game for three years straight! Maybe the food was a good incentive? After they all closed down I recall one of the few outlets not repurposed was eventually torn down after it's basement became a grisly crime scene/hideout for a couple of violent thieves. One turned on the other murdering him and tried to make a getaway but was quickly caught.
