I was beginning to think I had imagined these wonderful treats! None of my childhood friends could recall them and I couldn't find any results on Google for "Brownie Bars" other thsn actusl brownie recipes. I feared that ,perhaps, I had devoured the entire supply of these delicious confections in the 1960's and no one would ever know about them. Thanks for the comments.
