they were most definitely hippi-ish. I had the original family (mom dad and baby) the updated family (mom dad, son daughter and baby) and the grandparents. when you bought clothes or other stuff there were crafts like making a baby playpen out of a pint strawberry basket. i LOVED my sunshine family and have them at my parents. I'll try to post a photo soon
