I too had a red one of these toys in the sixties. I don't believe it was called a Squirmin Herman. That name doesn't ring a bell for me. Mine was red in color, about 6" wide, a foot long, with a light suede underside. It had eyes glued onto the faux fur, and when I would stroke it, it would raise up. I loved it, kept it looking like new, and had it for years. My mom said it was a cheap toy that acted almost alive. I would like to know the true name for it, and see if there are any out there still around.
