Socker Boppers have been back since the mid-90's. Two different companies produced them. First, it was Big Time Toys, and then it was Schylling. Perhaps Big Time Toys changed their name? I don't know. Anyway, they were a favorite toy of mine in the 70's, when they FIRST came out. Then in the 90's, they made a comeback, were made larger, and more fun. They were just a pair of inflatable beach ball looking things that had an opening, and you would put your hand in each one, and use them as boxing gloves. They had two different names to the product, Socker Boppers, AND Sockem Boppers. I guess they have both out there. I've seen both online. I don't know which one is the one the company is officially producing and distributing. They had two different models of the toys, too. What i mean is, the original ones had a vinyl opening, where you would put your hand. I guess the company noticed that many people complained because of their hands slipping out from sweat, so they modified them where the vinyl opening was now made out of a felt material. The felt material soaks up the sweat, i guess. It provided better results, and your hands stayed in the gloves. They aren't made as well these days, from what i hear. Cheaper plastic, or shoddy workmanship. I would buy some again, if i can find the original Big Time Toys version. I don't like the felt inside the opening.
