Comments left:	I have rediscovered my love of parkas after finding a suitcase in my parents loft. Inside were mine and my sisters old school uniforms including our pe kits, parkas, cagoules, bags and some books. I left school in 1989, my sister left in 1986. We both went to all girls schools and I remember so many parkas being worn by even the teachers, especially in the early 80s. It's strange because I remember after getting my GCSE results, being told by my mum to throw my school stuff away. I was so happy to throw my uniform skirts away, especially those horrible pe skirts. I recall being allowed to throw my parka and my cagoules in the bin too. But in the suitcase was all my school stuff including my Skyways blue parka and my sisters one too. There was also another like brand new parka in there too, it may of been my mums. For a laugh I tried on my uniform for my husband,it still fits and he really liked it, especially when I wore the parka with my pe skirt! He also had parkas at school but hated them. We have rekindled a love of snorkel parkas and school uniforms and my husband wants to get a couple. The feeling of nylon fabric on skin is sensual. I have had snorkel parkas and parka style coats as they have been in and out of fashion and kind of regret not keeping them, even worse throwing them in the bin even though they weren't original 80s ones. Maybe I can catch up now.
