I was an asst manager of Scotti's in Ames, Iowa; located on West Lincoln Way. It was a small chain out of Fort Collins, CO if I remember right. The store manager's name was Carl Wacker. The store opened in the Fall of 1966 and caught fire in 1970, but was quickly repaired and reopened later that year. It had the average food: the menu included 10-1 hamburgers and cheeseburgers ( and double Hamb's & Cheeseburgers), the "Big Scotti" was a 1/4 pound burger served on a 5" bun with all the condiments. Hot Dogs and Chili Dogs, Tacos, Fish (Cod) sandwiches, Steak sandwiches, pizza burgers, and huge tenderloins; of course french fries and huge orders of onion rings. Coke products for drinks, including Dr. Pepper, coffee; also milk shakes and soft serve ice cream cones. The counter handled 4 customers at a time; and two drive thru windows and registers. There's a picture of the sign in images. Remember, the spelling is Scotti's Hamburgers.
