We had a Scotty's in Sioux City Ia,back in the 70'system it was the bomb. The ketchup mustard mix on their hamburgers was one of a kind. As kids we leave the Boy's Club and go get large fry and 3-4 of us 13 yr olds could eat on them. They had twist ice cream cones that were the best in town. Dad would take us there get his Big Scotchman, mom the pork tenderloin that had more outside the bun than inside it. My brother and I would have pizza burgers or pork tenderloins. The hell with hamburgers we bad was splurging now. Even in dead of winter wed go there for hot chocolate with whipped cream. Later I found out dad knew the owner so we always got the hook up. Dad lived their burritos too. So filled to the max and sloppy but he loved it and wore it. Their fries put McDonald's to shame. We also had one over in South Sioux City for years which was many restaurants since most recent is Arby's the ladt 15 yrs or more. Can't forget their packaging that red yellow checkered wrap around your sandwich. God I think for a dollar when I was but twelve or fourteen you could get burger fries and a Coke and if there was a cute girl back there we ask for free refills before that became the norm sure miss places like that now it's all a popularity contest 8 $10 for a hamburger Jesus Christ not for me though I won't pay it I go home and eat steak. You going to catch me in a Five Guys Four Brothers Three Sisters whatever the hell them burger joints are called not this guy you want $10 for a hamburger you'll get it from somebody else and not me. Ever stop and take a look at a McDonald's or a Burger King hamburger they oughta be ashamed for putting such a tiny Patty on a bun seriously a Double Quarter Pounder at the only hamburger I'll eat at McDonald's otherwise it's off to Hardee's for my half pound or 2/3 pound Angus burger and I get fries and a coke and an apple pie 10 bucks. But there's favoritism with Hardee's that have been and probably always will be my favorite the only place you can go to have a burger or a hot ham and cheese or roast beef chicken strips used to be Chili Dogs too. Hardee's on the west coast goes by another name and they also carry Mexican food or burritos we don't have that Sioux City biscottis I sure miss their food and that pizza burger was my favorite growing up I can taste it now. Many memories. Thanks for letting me comment. MJ
