Moon Pies / Scooter Pies (shown in image) were made by Burry Biscuit in Elizabeth NJ. The company was around in the late 1800’s, in the 1960’s to maybe 80’s they produced Scooter Pies (they were in my lunch bag in nearby Cranford NJ most days - and loved). Burry Biscuits also produced Girl Scout cookies. Burry’s was bought out by Quaker Oats around 1968 though I believe they retained their name for some time. The historic factory burned down around 2011. A piece of history. People who grew up in the area talk about smelling fresh baked cookies in the air throughout their childhood and visiting the factory store… where moms went for broken cookie bit (discount)boxes, that they still remember today.
