I distinctly recall enjoying several cans of Rondo in the summer of 1979 in a suburb of Pheonix, Arizona. As I'm sure you can all imagine, the weather was unbelievably hot. My brother and I assessed the situation based on what we knew from watching the television ad (this was a long time before the interwebs kids) and we concluded that we were men who had in fact worked up a "rondo thirst." Having reached this conclusion there was basically only one thing left to do especially in light of the fact that we did NOT want anything we had to sip, and that was to reach for, you guessed it, the 'thirst crusher'. I remember thinking that the lemon yellow color of the can was perfect and that in a moment my thirst would be crushed hard by the Rondo. These were the days of pull tabs so we pulled the tabs like they were grenade puns and started slamming it down fast. It was almost startling how rapidly one could slam this beverage down and that had a lot to do with how they engineered it's delicate carbonation. Afterwards we felt like a million dollars. It was a great experience. Later we realized that one of the main ingredients was high fructose corn syrup which is basically poison so we never touched the stuff again. That was a great day tho.
