Comments left:	I am SO happy I found this page! Brings back great memories. In fact, I am having a 2-pack of Yodels as I'm reading all these posts, LOL. Unfortunately they don't taste the same as I remember as a kid in the Bronx in the early 60s, though. Now Ring Dings...THOSE were my favorites! As many have noted, they came individually wrapped in clear cellophane with a white cardboard backing, were about 4" in diameter, and cost a dime. You had to hold it in 2 hands, that's how BIG they were. I think Ring Dings had dark, thicker chocolate, which set them apart from Yodels - but I could be wrong about that. I, too, remember the B&W TV commercial with the two boys in paper hats rolling around in the metal drums, singing "Ring Ding, Ring Ding, wish I had a Ring Ding." Then in the 70s Drakes came out with the Ring Ding Jr., which was wrapped in gold foil and came 12 to a box. They were smaller but thicker than the regular Ring Ding, and tasted about the same. I also loved Funny Bones with the peanut butter filling, sold in a 2-pack like Yodels. I don't remember Ring Dings with PB inside, like some people have mentioned, or the Golden ones with the chocolate filling, so maybe they were only offered for a limited time or in test markets. Then there were Devil Dogs and Yankee Doodles, which did not have a chocolate coating but still had a vanilla cream filling. As a kid, I wasn't into the Coffee Cakes until I was older, but talk about your sugar fix! LOL. As with all these snacks, nothing made them go down better than with a nice, tall glass of milk. I used to dunk everything, anyway, getting the milk all over my little fingers - but who cared, they were all delicious! I still get Ring Dings and Yodels when I go back to NY, and you can order them online these days, too. But nothing beats the taste of the original, BIG Ring Ding. Btw, I've never had a Ding Dong, King Dong, Lil Debbie's or any of those impersonators - nor do I want to! Long live the Ring Ding! :)
