Though today, considered a blatant act of political incorrectness,the Chinese mascot, So-Hi, was a funny little kid in those "Linus the Lionhearted" cartoons. So-Hi first appeared on Post RICE KRINKLES boxes in 1960, four years before the "Linus" show began. He was gone from RICE KRINKLES by 1968, probably under some pressure to alleviate ethnic stereotypes. I have one early "Linus" show (airdate 10/24/64, CBS-TV) with a RICE KRINKLES ad showing a free So-Hi acrobat toy in specially marked boxes. POST RICE KRINKLES was a great alternative when sugarless Kellogg's Rice Krispies would bore me.
