We used to get Red Snap bell bottom hiphugger jeans from the Army-Navy store in the mid-70s, too. I was in a suburb of Dallas, Irving, and they were really popular, probably the most coveted kind. I had one pair in standard blue denim and another in pine green brushed denim, which had a velour-like nap and were the coolest kind. I remember lime green and bright orange ones being popular, too, for men and women (like many styles of the 70s). I notice a few other commenters here also got them in Dallas. Were they only available in the Dallas area? And anyone else remember the rainbow stretch belts worn with them?
