From the Saturday morning cartoon vault, two more great TV spots with our favorite cereal pair from Quaker. First, a mini-comic book titled, "Tale of Glutton" inside boxes. Quisp knocks Quake's obesity in the 12-page comic. This aired on the "Beatles" cartoon show over ABC (11/13/65). Second ad has the Quake (as cowboy-superhero) mini movie viewer (cheap, plastic magnifier, plus small comic strips) inside boxes, along with offer for the Quisp Cosmic Clouder toy space gun (white powder used). This aired on "George of the Jungle" over ABC (1/25/69). 50c and two proof seals got you the gun. Text on cereal box stated that kids should use gun to "make enemies into friends with Cosmic Cloud's power." Today, that toy gun is worth $100 or more, if instruction sheet and original powder are with it.
