When I visited my great uncle in Chicago in 1955-1960 he worked for Walter H. Johnson Candy Co. In his basement at his house on South Indiana were a pool table and a refrigerator--the latter full of Powerhouse bars for the taking. Life has been downhill ever since. At Halloween he would mound up the dining room table with candy; you cou have as much as you could pick up with two hands. The line stretched down the block and around the corner.
