Powerhouse candy bars were a favorite of my mother's, and also of mine. The real reason they were taken off the market was because Evil Nestle' (known for its ethically-dubious methods of marketing infant formula in poor nations) bought Peter Paul in the 1980s. Because Powerhouse was similar to Nestle's existing Baby Ruth, Powerhouse was removed from the market. Several years ago I had a serious Powerhouse craving and bought an "extra large" Baby Ruth. . .BR nougat is stiff compared to Powerhouse chewy, and BR peanuts are large, not chopped. Not nearly as good! I have always disliked coconut, and hate the fact that the other former Peter Paul candy bars, Mounds and Almond Joy, are still available. . .
