Yes, potato chips in a box was the only way we had them as kids. The box was marked "1 lb" and contained two bags inside. I have seen more recent boxes of potato chips and the weight is now only 8 oz, but still in two bags. Like everything else, the product was reduced in size and has increased in price. Back then, there were always some over-cooked chips in the bag, which were my favorite - they just had a better taste then the other ones. I noticed once that you never seem to get any of those anymore and then I found out why. Watching a show about Old Dutch (which is a snack company in the Minneapolis area), they have electric eyes watching the conveyor belts for those burned chips and somehow when one is spotted, a puff of air is directed to it and blows it off the belt. I wondered what happened to them all. Thrown away perhaps? If so, what a waste. I thought they should just bag them up and sell them as "well done"! I'd buy them.
