Found a Kellogg's TV commercial block from the "Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour" (3/28/70, CBS) with an early Frosted Pop Tarts spot. Also, Sugar Frosted Flakes with Dick Dastardly and his WWI-era cronies (Klunk and Zilly). Funny, this aired right before the "Dastardly-Muttley-Flying Machines" program, skirting the FCC ban on 30-minute commercials. Also, an offer to send 25 cents and a box top from any of four sugary cereals by Kellogg's, to get membership in the Dick Dastardly Vulture Squadron. This rivaled the Banana Splits Club (same company, different network: NBC). Both of these kidvid fan clubs pounded ABC-TV's "Super Saturday Club," backed by Mattel Toys, in membership sales. ABC abandoned its club at the end of 1969. The Banana Splits Fan Club lasted until mid-1970, as NBC was not renewing the show for the 1970-71 season. The Vulture Squadron Club was gone by fall, 1970.
