The Saturday morning cartoon show, "Josie and the Pussycats," was originally sponsored by Kelloggs in 1970 to 1971, and had some nifty premiums. First, a mail-in for records, four in all, at 35 cents each, or all four for $1.25. Ad appeared on Frosted Flakes and possibly Pop Tarts. Second, inside boxes, were one of six plastic character spoons (the three Pussycats, Alan, Alex, Sebastian the cat). These were in Sugar Smacks (American Indian on horse pictured on box front) and possibly Pop Tarts. The TV commercial for the spoons first aired on "Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour" on CBS in mid-December of 1970. The record offer began in early 1971.
