While attending North Texas State from 1963 to 1965, I bought bottles of Pomac from a vending machine in the Student Center. It was very different...not a normal soft drink. It tasted more like a white wine which I liked much more than a normal soft drink. I often ask a trivia question about knowing what a bottle of Pomac was like. My Aunt lived in Dallas across the street from a new Dr. Pepper factory and I found out it was bottled by Dr. Pepper as a challenger to Sprite and 7-Up. I thought it was great and couldn't get it any more in the Air Force after I graduated in 1965. At the time, I didn't realize it was a regional drink. Maybe the reason I liked it is that I went to High School in Frankfurt Germany where I became accustomed to drinks that were not so sweet.
