I had a pair of men's platform shoes, shorter than the ones I really wanted, but Mom said no to the really high ones. I loved those shoes. Circa 1974. They were lace-ups in an "antique look" burnished brown leather with woven detail on a circa one-inch stacked platform and three-inch stacked heel. The ones I really wanted were blue suede lace-ups with a much higher platform and heel made of a single piece of natural grain wood, like walking on a big block of wood. Mom wouldn't let me have 'em.
