I loved Ozark style chips since I was a kid. I grew up near Chicago but all our relatives were in southern IL - that's where the chips were. I loved them so much that I remember as late as roughly 1986-87 driving down to southern IL & while there buying all the bbq chips on the shelves lol. I know at some point KAS/KAZ? took them over - I have tried many other brands & none of them come close enough for me. In the Chicago area, Jays makes a good bbq but it's a tad sweet. In Kentucky, MikeSells makes a good hickory bbq & Grippos makes a very hot, smokey, slightly sweet bbq. I want my Ozarks & that silly looking hillbilly!!! Too bad one of us doesn't have the recipe!
