I've been looking for years. It wasn't marshmallow. It was a soft cookie sandwich (the outside cookie looked like social tea cookies but were soft) with jelly marmalade inside and chocolate sprinkles on the outside of the jelly in between the soft cookies. It wasn't made by Nabisco, but rather by a small, local chocolate company. The son of the owner of the company moved the chocolate company to Pennsylvania and sold the company to Barton's or some other chocoloate company. Last time they were sold was on the Lower East Side at the Economy Candy store and there was a more commercialized version that was completely covered in chocolate that sold in supermarkets in NYC. If you go way back in time, they used to sell them in individually wrapped celophane packages in luncheonettes in NYC, and there was a time when a cheaper version of the cookied was sold in Waldbaum's in the 70's. No one is interested in making the cookie because it's time consuming and requires manual labor. Maybe if more people wrote about the cookie, someone out there would be interested in making it again.
