Cookie Galore

My grandfather spent his career as a Nabisco cookie man, from the mid '30s to the mid-'60s. Before mergers, the company really took care of its employees, and kept my grandparents in free cookies throughout their retirement and even at his funeral in the '80s. So I was raised a brand gal. Best cookies: butter finger cookies, brown edge wafers (around way before the '90s), chocolate snaps and chocolate chip snaps, animal crackers (they look like blobs now, as if someone destroyed the detailed molds), and those long, thin raisin crisps (Sunshine called them Golden Fruit cookies). I don't believe the cookies ever had pork in them, maybe beef tallow?
