I logged on looking for this cookie, though it has taken me a week to remember which cookie it was. I thought they were called butter rings, but I used to stick my finger through them too - fond memories. Anyway, I ate a cookie with a chocolate filling which tastes a lot like them (elfs make them, and you have to take the filling out!) These elf cookies are a bit larger than they used to be, and I believe they changed the recipe and flavor. For me, it is worth tossing the filling, as I would pay a premium to taste the butter rings again, and this is really close!
