I have the best Molly-O story! My great-aunt worked at McCormick's in London until she retired in the 1950s. She used to bring us home the "rejects" from the production line -- the ones that somehow turned out just toooo mouth-wateringly big and round. ;) Yup, Molly-Os were the all-time best. And for those not familiar with McCormick's: the factory built in London in 1914, when I think my great-aunt began working there, was a model of modern hygienic production methods and also of good labour practices. I would like to post links, but I can't, so do a search for *mccormicks factory london dundas* and you will see the London Public Library web page and information about redevelopment from city counsellor Jesse Helmer. Go to Images, and you will see a picture of the employee cafeteria. At google maps, see 1156 Dundas for the current very sad state of the property. Confectionary runs in my family -- Johnny Chapman of Chapman's bakery on Dundas St in east London was also a cousin. :)
