The Milkshake candy bar goes further back than the 1970's. I was eating them in 1959 and 1960 on my way home from school. Cash in a few soda bottles for the 3 cent per empty bottle deposit and I would have a Milkshake bar for the walk home from school. Frozen or straight up ambient temperature did not make any difference. They were tasty at any time at any temperature. There was also the Seven-Up bar. Remember that one? There was so much more variety and choice back then than there is now. Back then it was taste buds and competition. Nowadays it is marketing and media.
