Comments left:	My 15 minutes of fame is tied to the original McFeast, too. Triton Investments was at one time the largest McDonald's franchisee in the country, and had stores throughout North and South Carolina. Charlotte, NC was the first test market for the McFeast, and the McD's I worked in was chosen for training for the Triton Investment stores. I cooked the first McFeast to cross the front counter to a paying customer in the country (or so the McD suits told me). The original McFeast was sold on a special bakery roll, as Sally_Oh mentioned, with a higher sugar content and a little bigger than the large sandwich (quarter pounder) bun. The bun was sorta like the current Angus Burger bun. It had the same meat patty as the Quarter Pounder, with cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, mayo, ketchup and pickles. This was really big at the time, because it was the first national McDonald's sandwich to feature tomato. It came in a styrofoam package, as mentioned before, but was inserted into a white square waxed paper envelope, sealed on two sides, to catch all the juices that were going to drip out, because it was a pretty messy sandwich to eat. The special bun didn't last very long, replaced by the same bun used by the Quarter Pounder, and they also got rid of the envelope. This was back in the mid seventies, but I don't remember just when. I worked for McD's while in high school and part of college, starting in about 1975. I also think it was one of McD's best sandwiches, especially with the bakery roll.
