I had a solid brown maxi coat, that unzipped to make it a midi,and thank God it did! because in those days girls carried their textbooks like cradling a baby( no backpacks used,at least none in Milwaukee,Wisconsin)I took two different public buses to get to my middle school and after falling on my face climbing onto the bus with books cradled for over a week(and bus drivers snickering or cheering me on)I finally zipped that wonderful maxicoat off to make it a midi and never looked back! LOL
