I cannot remember the brand name of the marshmallows we used, but I believe there were two layers of 8 marshmallows per box, the box being a bit larger than kitchen match box. I think the box was wrapped in a blue and white wax paper with a layer of paper seperating the two layers. They were smaller than todays marshmallow, and a bit crustier (is that a word?), but this may have been due to them drying out a bit and going stale, kind of like bread being exposed to air. The powdery surface may have been the residue from cornstarch, which confectioners use to keep candy from sticking. Anyway, the old marshmallows always seemed a bit more exotic and were a special treat for us kids, more so than todays giant plastic pillow we have to settle for. Glad to hear some people remember them, too. I miss them. Dennis
