I think Charles is describing the KOOL AID made by General Foods, later Kraft. The powder drink mix goes back to the 1930s. The famous smiling pitcher was introduced around 1960, now known as KOOL AID Man. From 1964 to 1970, General Foods used cartoon character Bugs Bunny as its mascot, to promote new "Pre-sweetened" KOOL AID. A series of TV ads featuring Bugs and Elmer Fudd were produced. Elmer was dropped from the ads by 1966, Afterward, cartoon Bugs blended with live-action people, including the Monkees (RIP Davy Jones). Bugs Bunny disappeared from KOOL AID wrappers and TV ads early in 1970, with GF reverting back to KOOL AID Man to this day.
