From the Saturday morning cartoon vault, the first King Vitaman commercial. The king (Joe Flynn) assembles his knights to plan strategy on defeating the "Not-So-Bright Knight" (instead of calling him "Black Knight"). King then orders his men to pour milk on their cereal. Instead, they douse him with milk. This aired on "Cool McCool" over NBC (5/17/69). Joe Flynn died from accidental drowning in 1974, amidst playing blusterous authority figures in Disney films. Best known as the captain on "McHale's Navy," he also played a lawyer who mentored David and Rick Nelson on "Ozzie & Harriet' (1959-62). After 1971, George Mann played the live-action King Vitaman for a few years, until the cereal was discontinued. During the time of commercial, NBC replaced the cancelled "Super President" cartoon show with reruns of "Cool McCool" until fall.
