From the prime time TV vault, the second commercial with Jimmy Durante for Corn Flakes. Using trick photography, he's a tiny guy trying to climb a much bigger piano. After eating Corn Flakes, he "grows" to proportion and starts playing. This aired during "The Monkees" on NBC (2/27/67). Episode song was "You Just May Be the One" featuring Mike Nesmith. Monkees for Rice Krispies, Apple Jacks and Yardley mascara among other commercials. Network promo for "Captain Nice." Episode has a condescending society magazine editor assigning a young girl reporter, Toby, and photographer, Rob Roy, to create a story on the Monkees to suit the snobbish high society. She rejects the efforts of her young team, who wanted to portray the group in a realisitic, hip way. Toby quits, but the Monkees turn the tables, resulting in the editor's demotion...and Toby becoming editor. A great story!
