In 1970, when Danish-Go-Rounds first came out, an early offer of 50 cents coffee money appeared on boxes. You had to send a cash stamp from the box plus register receipts for the pastries and the coffee. A lot of work to get that 50 cents. In 1972 and 1973, 3-D Baseball cards (series of 75 in all) were inside boxes. By 1974, demand for Danish-Go-Rounds was muddled by higher prices (and production costs), making Pop Tarts once again king of the toaster pastries (Milton the Toaster had a hand in this, too, in increased TV advertising).
