i'm in the same boat. had it in the 70's, loved it and yes, my ball flew off into the bushes constantly too. i found a company that sells them after searching long and hard. there's a german company called manufactum which sells through the u.k. that sells a set. my sister and i each bought one to keep the exorbitant shipping costs down, but it was worth it. now, my 5 year old son got ahold of the scissors today and cut the attachment points where the string attached to the ball, so now i'm on the hunt for replacement balls. argh....
